Tomomi grew up in Tokyo, Japan and received her bachelor’s degree from Tokyo University of Fisheries in 2005. She loves being in/on the ocean and has worked in ecotourism on a providing opportunities for visitors to swim with dolphins and whale watch in the Ogasawara Islands in Japan - a World Natural Heritage site. This experience made wildlife conservation her passion. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Anthrozoology from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY. Her experience living in Australia and the US in addition to her studies in conservation in Japan, provide her a unique perspective on cross-cultural issues affecting wildlife conservation.
