Private lands managemnet is a critical component of effective conservation.  CMI works with partners to support Private Lands Biologist positions that work directly with landowners to improve terrestrial and aquatic habitat on their property.

We have two ongoing programs - the Early Successional Habitat program for landowners in Virginia (in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Virginia state office of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service), and the Southeastern Hellbender Conservation Initiative (a project funded by the Working Lands for Wildlife program in collaboration with Defenders of Wildlife).

More information about each program is available by following the links provided.
