Ben Wilson
Ben Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology as well as a GIS Certificate in December 2016 from the University of North Alabama. He spent the next couple of years in Clarksville, TN attending graduate school at Austin Peay State University and studying the Piebald Madtom. Though graduate school ultimately didn’t work out, he gained valuable insights and skills that have shaped his professional journey. Topics of an aquatic nature have interested him since childhood, spending time on the shores of the Tennessee River in his hometown of Florence, AL and summers on Clear Creek at Camp McDowell in Nauvoo, AL. Ben has assisted in several studies over the years and started his career recently as a Biological Technician at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge in Decatur, AL. He is currently a Private Lands Biologist for the Working Lands for Wildlife Program, hoping for the chance to make a positive change in aquatic habitats in North Alabama.
